The food in Torrevieja is varied with an excellent choice of International cuisines including Italian, French, German, Chinese, Indian, Korean, Scandinavian, Serbian, Croatian, Mexican, etc. in a number of specialised restaurants.
The typical Torrevieja Speciality is the "Caldero", which consists of different fish types, rice and the juice of the fish, this you can eat almost anywhere in town.
Other typical sea flavour dishes are rice with fresh anchovy, cooked codfish, red bream, mackerel, ray and other fish, which are prepared in there are own special way in various restaurants.

Big Sam's has 'Theme Nights' on ...rnWednesdays it is 'Pie Night' Home made Steak Pies by the Chef 'Mad Andy' are to die for. Suet crust pastry that literally melts in the mouth and generous helpings too! Terrfic value at 4.95 EurosrnThursday is 'Curryaoke' night. Again home made curry's of various varieties, this time made by Wendy (the owners wife) very tasty indeed with the option of adding chips to the rice for a change. Good value at 5.95 Euros. Afterwards there is Karaoke to enjoy (or perform)rnEvening meals start serving at 6 o/clock After happy hour (4-6) Curry and Pie nights are extremely popular so make sure you get in early!

Big Sams Bar is the best value fine food and warmest welcome we have experienced in Torrevieja, and we are sure to book our Sunday lunch long before we leave England to be sure to get a space. We also look forward to the great filling breakfasts and variety of snacks served during the day.rnThursdays curryaoke nights are the highlight of our holidays and we have yet to find a steak pie that scores close to Mad Andy's.rnThe atmosphere is fun, friendly, and very efficient and I can't imagine Los Balcones without this great attraction.

Lots of Posh Nosh, good tapas, as for the service, I suppose its a compliment to say it was totally unnoticed. Eating out on the veranda the views are the best in the area, you can see the whole of the shape of the Mar Menor as its sornhigh up. Not cheap, plenty of Spanish eating there.

My wife and I have been to this restaurant a number of times and havernenjoyed every moment. The surroundings are impressive and the food excellent. There is a good varied choice on the menu . I would recommend the Fish baked in salt which is filleted at your table. The service is superb, with just the right level of attention. Prices are average but good value considering the venue and service that is provided. They also do lunchtime snacks to be eaten on the veranda where you can admire the impressive views. Nice to go there for morning coffe too. Well worth going to if you have guests to impress.
