The food in Torrevieja is varied with an excellent choice of International cuisines including Italian, French, German, Chinese, Indian, Korean, Scandinavian, Serbian, Croatian, Mexican, etc. in a number of specialised restaurants.
The typical Torrevieja Speciality is the "Caldero", which consists of different fish types, rice and the juice of the fish, this you can eat almost anywhere in town.
Other typical sea flavour dishes are rice with fresh anchovy, cooked codfish, red bream, mackerel, ray and other fish, which are prepared in there are own special way in various restaurants.
There are also many specialised restaurants that represent the kitchen of the different Spanish regions.

Lots of Posh Nosh, good tapas, as for the service, I suppose its a compliment to say it was totally unnoticed. Eating out on the veranda the views are the best in the area, you can see the whole of the shape of the Mar Menor as its sornhigh up. Not cheap, plenty of Spanish eating there.

My wife and I have been to this restaurant a number of times and havernenjoyed every moment. The surroundings are impressive and the food excellent. There is a good varied choice on the menu . I would recommend the Fish baked in salt which is filleted at your table. The service is superb, with just the right level of attention. Prices are average but good value considering the venue and service that is provided. They also do lunchtime snacks to be eaten on the veranda where you can admire the impressive views. Nice to go there for morning coffe too. Well worth going to if you have guests to impress.

We decided to give this highly publicised Restaurant a visit, Staff and choice of menu very good, however we ordered two chicken dishes at 8 Euros each dish, loads of sauce but only 4 very small cubes of chicken, this was very disappointing.We thought that there were too many tables in too small an area, and you were rather cramped.

We like Don Sandys because for one its spanish, and they serve very nice food to suit all tastes, they are friendly, its not too expensive, and they have Flamenco shows every Friday.

Excellent food, a huge variety of freshly cooked and large portions, many bottles of wine to choose from. A small seating area inside but a medium/large seating area outside at the rear of the building away from the street, hence 'El Patio'. It is the kind of place you would normally walk past and not really notice, but once you've been there, you'll want to go again, very cheap and the management and staff are friendly, its typically Spanish, try it, you won't be disappointed.
